Lakmal’s Lahore!!! A Permanent Splinter in Leg

Fast bowler Suranga Lakmal is one of the two internationally active cricketers who was in the Sri Lankan team bus when terrorists opened fire at the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in 2009. Lakmal and Chamara Kapugedera are the only players who are still playing international cricket from the 15-member squad. Eight years after the attack Lakmal has emerged as Sri Lanka’s leading fast bowler. He recalled the painful memories of the attack and the difficulties he goes through.

Paranavitana for a Pakistan Tour

Former Sri Lanka opener Tharanga Paranavitana, who was one of the six victims in the March 3, 2009 terrorist attack on the team’s bus in Lahore, said Sri Lankan players going to play in Pakistan should only concentrate on the game. After a security assessment, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) chief Thilanga Sumathipala cleared the team to play three T20s, including at least one in Lahore.

Nine Fielders on the Boundary for Hardik Pandya…. A Record ?

As I watch Lahiru Gamage run up, I see that Chandimal has placed nine fielders in a ring äround Hardik Pandya … sort of!!  ….. they are all on the boundary lines. Pandya had just mauled left arm spinner Pushpakumara — hitting threee sixes and a four in one over. Some were not mere sixers, but HUGE SIXERS.

Middle-Stumped !!! A Cricketing Puzzle
