World’s highest international wicket taker Muttiah Muralitharan (1347 wickets- 800 in Tests, 534 in ODIs and 13 in T20Is) has donated all his Man of the Match awards and trophies he won in his 19-years of international cricket to Foundation of Goodness, Sri Lanka’s premier charity organisation of which he is one of the trustees.

This was revealed by his manager and another trustee Kushil Gunasekera.  Speaking exclusively over telephone from Sri Lanka, he said, “The Murali Museum (new adventure of the organisation) will be situated at the Foundation of Goodness’ Sports Academy premises in Seenigama”.

“Murali has donated all of his trophies and memorabilia to be displayed for the public with the hope that it will help bring more attention to the Foundation and all of its good work”.

The organisation recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary.   “Murali invited his fellow trustees Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena to also display their memorabilia at this museum for a worthy cause”.

“The museum will have free entry to the public who c an make a donation at the end of the visit if they please, especially when 60 predominantly overseas school teams from England and Australia visit the Foundation of Goodness every year, not forgetting our own school students who can view their hero’s milestones”, Kushil Gunasekera added further.
