The Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy toured Sri Lanka couple of months back and its continuing association with Sri Lankan cricket has been indicated in the ongoing negotiations with Sri Lanka Cricket South Australia for the sponsoring of a talented young cricketer from Lanka via the SLC board (more later).
In Lanka one of their highlights was the dinner at the Ministry of Crab, a restaurant owned by Kumar Sangakkara, in the heart of Colombo Fort. Though he had just arrived back from the West Indies that morning Kumar was present and Shaun Seigert, in charge of DLCA, was unrestrained in his praise for Kumar’s warmth of engagement and ambassadorial capacities [a feature most of us are already familiar with].
It was not all crabbing, so to speak, and other fun and games for the young lads of DLCA: rigorous training and an engagement with the sub-continental type of wickets and atmospheric conditions was the intent of their journey. Some more pictures are presented below; but for more information visit the web site http://www.dlca.com.au/
